New Year’s Backup

Happy New Year. The new year made me think of something: backups. So, I tell you, dear reader, please back up your data. How, you ask. Get an external harddrive with USB connector and use Windows’ built-in utility. It’s quite simple and automated.

Do it.

I’m backing up as we speak.

I finally broke down and started using the My Documents folder. I had resisted for many years, but I finally realized that keeping everything in one folder is easier. Even Warlords Battlecry II—yes, I only play two-, make that three-year-old games—puts the save games in My Documents for ease of backup. I just hate doing what the computer tells me to.

You’d better be careful, or you might give your computer some intestinal problems, and then it would hate you.

This made me wonder what was in my own My Documents folder, so I decided to take a gander. I found all of one items: XiMC, a Japanese program to convert .BGM files to .WAV format. Interestingly enough, this is always the program that I “lose,” and everytime I want to use it (which isn’t that often, but still), I have to do a Search. Because of this, I still refuse to use that stupid folder.
